HARVEY, Rodney Emerson


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/17/2006 Rodney Emerson Harvey went home to be with the Lord Nov. 9, 2006 in Tucson. All who knew him will dearly miss him. Rodney was born Nov. 29, 1939 in Fort Benning, Ga. He was a career service man retiring from the United States Air Force after 20 years. He was an educator in Navajo County for over 24 years working on the Fort Apache and Navajo Reservations, and also at Northland Pioneer College as a Center Manager and instructor. Rod's love for sports was always present throughout his life. In early years, he played football and in later years as a coach of football, basketball, soccer and volleyball. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Martha Harvey; four daughters, Lorna Harvey, Suzanne Crocker, Kathleen (Fred) Esparza, and Jessica Marsh; four sons, Michael (Jennice) Harvey, Hanford Harvey, Andrew Harvey, and Logan Harvey; two brothers, James (Ruth) Meade and Wayne (Jackie) Harvey; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many foster children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Harvey; father, Ralph O. Harvey; brother, Hanford Meade; and two sons, Ralph E. Harvey and Galen D. Harvey. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at Valley View Baptist Church in Snowflake.
