BONITO, Gerald

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/17/2006 Gerald Bonito, 44, of Whiteriver died Nov. 12, 2006. He was born in McNary and grew up and attended school there until his family moved to Whiteriver in 1971. Following school he went to work for the BIA as a Firefighter. He remained employed there until the time of his death. He enjoyed horseshoes and liked to play in basketball tournaments. He was a member of the North Fork Choir and loved to fish. Gerald is survived by his daughters, Tashina, Geralyn, and Farrah; mother, Melissa Bonito; sister, Vickey Bonito; brothers, Leon, Ronald, Gilbert, Marcus, Chester, and Eddie; step-brother, Lane Tonay; grandchildren, Antuan Altaha, Ajami Altaha, Jamissa Altaha, and J'Kwon Gerold Bonito; and many nieces and nephews. A wake will begin Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Bonito home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Hall. Interment will be at Whiteriver Cemetery Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
