Louella "Louie" Mae Shroulote, 56, of Whiteriver died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, of natural causes.
Louella grew up in McNary during her younger years. She attended school on and off the reservation. She has been employed with the USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif., as an LPN for many years. She returned home and was employed with the Whiteriver Indian Health Services in the pediatric dept. She shared her knowledge in the medical field with others.
She had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed arts and crafts; she made many scrap books and photo albums for her family and friends. She loved to knit and crochet. She was a quilter and gave many of her quilts away. Louella was sociable, was loving and a giving person. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of the Fort Apache Branch.
Louella is survived by her husband, Alfred Shroulote Sr.; daughters, Marche Shroulote, Maritza Altaha; sons, Alfred Shroulote Jr., Cedric Shroulote; grandson, Dante Declay; sisters, Louann Olson, Jane Altaha, Rose Harvey, Veleda Thompson-Altaha; brothers, Ed Altaha, Fred Altaha Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sean Marc Shroulote; father, Fred Altaha Sr. and mother, Leona Altaha; sisters, Avis Altaha, Venelda Altaha and brother, Jason Altaha.
A wake will be held in her honor Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m at her home in Rainbow City, Whiteriver. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fort Apache.
nterment will be at the Mourning Dove Cemetery in Cedar Creek.
