The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Thursday, July 15, 2010 Charles Edward ‘Skip’ Bemis 1935 - 2010 Charles “Skip” Bemis, born April 8, 1935, to Loris Homer Bemis and Esther Elizabeth Phelps in Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2010 in Flagstaff Arizona. Skip served in the US Air Force, the Connecticut National Guard, the Massachusetts Air National Guard and he retired as a Senior Claims Adjustor for Allstate Insurance in 1993. After raising his family in Enfield Connecticut, Skip and his wife Judy relocated to Cottonwood Arizona where he continued to serve Allstate as a Catastrophe Team Adjustor. Charles is survived by his wife Judith of Winter Park, Florida; his daughter, Mary, of Weaverville, North Carolina; two sons Edward of Oviedo, Florida, and James of North Stonington, Connecticut along with three grandchildren and two brothers.
