Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, October 21, 2008 Lia Eleana Perez-Grant, 32, a resident of Blue Road, Monmouth, Maine passed away on Oct. 16, 2008, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a courageous battle with Leukemia, surrounded by her loving husband, son and father. She was born Aug. 5, 1976, in Newport Beach, Calif., the daughter of Jorge H. Perez and Michelle K. Laws. Lia attended school in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. On Dec. 21, 2003, in Bangor, she married Rick Grant of Monmouth. Lia worked as a special education teacher at the Henry L. Cottrell School. She enjoyed her flower gardens, loved being outdoors, be it camping, boating or going to yard sales. Lia loved Mexican food, but her biggest love was being with her family. She is survived by her husband Rick, of Monmouth; her son, Duncan Jeffery Gahagan-Grant, of Monmouth; her stepdaughter, Lynisa Aubin, of North Carolina; her dad, Jorge H. Perez, and his companion, Ramona Gutierrez, of Wichita, Kansas; her mother, Michelle K. Laws, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; two sisters, Moriah Perez Bernal and her husband Justin, of Taos, New Mexico and Jessica Perez, of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Daniel Perez, of Wichita, Kansas and Arron Frederiksen, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a nephew, Yonah David Bernal; three nieces, Khye Rain and Keara Sage Bernal and Hayley Burnette; maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Cunningham and her companion, Joe Campbell, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; paternal grandmother, Maria de Jesus Hernandez, of Soldana, Mexico; Duncan's grandparents, Jeffrey and Amber Gahagan, of Milo; and Eric Gahagan, of Milo. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Ronald Laws, James Cunningham and Miguel Perez. Perez-Grant - Lia E., 32, a resident of Blue Road, Monmouth, died Oct. 16, in Lewiston. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 21, at BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Visiting hours from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral.
