Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Richard Bruce Nunley, 69, passed away Saturday, Sep. 27, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Cecil J. Nunley and Mildred (Newcomer) Hansen. Richard was a loving husband and father and has been “River” since the early 60’s. He was a self-employed roofer in La Mirada, Calif., and following retirement, moved to Lake Havasu City; 11 years ago. Richard enjoyed time on the lake fishing, and hunting with family and friends. His favorite music was rock and country and he enjoyed local sports teams such as the Suns and Diamondbacks. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol Nunley; son, Richard (Lorrie) Nunley, of La Mirada, Calif.; daughter, Holly C. (Milo) Afusia, of Lake Havasu City; mother, Mildred Hansen, of LaVerkin, Utah; sister, Lea Osiek, of La Verkin; and his grandson, “Buddy” Tamilo Afusia Jr; who he loved with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his father. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Friday at 4 p.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be presented by Rev. Richard Rounds.
