GLASCOCK, Robert S.


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Robert S. Glascock (Bob), 81, passed away Sept. 30, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born May 21, 1926, in New York City, N.Y., to Campbell H. and Catherine (Simon) Glascock. Robert married Dorothy Fogarty in 1949 in Misquamicut, R.I. He attended West Point Academy, enlisted in the US Army and graduated from USC with a Masters Degree in Engineering. They raised their family in Southern California where he taught elementary school and worked for IBM. They lived in Albequerque, N.M., for 20 years where he worked for Xerox before they retired to Lake Havasu City in 1992. Bob’s entrepreneurial spirit led him from a trader and owner of a Native American jewelry and crafts store to the first used car rental company in New Mexico. He will always be remembered for his love of the Colorado River and Lake Havasu, where he spent many years boating and exploring the area with his family. He will be missed as a loving father by his family: Douglas Glascock, of Harrison Ark., Robert Glascock, of Riverside, Calif., Kathy Glascock, of Lake Havasu City, Karen Glascock, of Durango, Colo.., three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
