Edith Norton, 90, of Lake Havasu City died Sept. 30, 2008, at Havasu Regional Medical Center. She was born January 9, 1918.
Edith moved from Italy to New York, a place she loved as a child, with her parents. She eventually met and married the man of her dreams, Harold Norton. They moved to California and then on to Lake Havasu City where she lived for over 40 years.
She was in the mortgage business for 20 years and then worked in the family business before retiring. She was a member of the Lake Havasu Baptist Church, which was a positive and happy part of her life. For many, many years she would knit scarves, hats and mittens and beautiful afghans for the different missions and the needy that the church helped.
Edith's memories of New York along with all her stories will be missed; she was a great story teller.
Edith had four children, one son and three daughters. She is survived by daughters, Irene Hippe, Joann Norton and Margie Verhoek; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one on the way, and we can’t forget the three pussy cats, Lucky, Fluffy and Baby.
We will miss you Grandma.
There will be a memorial service Oct. 20, at 4:30 p.m., at Lake Havasu Baptist Church, 2101 N. Palo Verde Blvd., Lake Havasu, AZ 86404. In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be sent to Lake Havasu Baptist Church.
