TAYLOR, Lawrence Lynn


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/22/2006 Lawrence Lynn Taylor, known to all as Larry, of Pinetop, passed on to eternity Dec. 12, 2006. He will be joining those of his family that have passed before him, including his father, Lloyd; mother, Helen; brothers, Lloyd and Steve, sister, Diana Mills and nephew, Victor Walker. Larry was born Dec. 14, 1954 in El Cajon, near San Diego, Calif. He completed his early education and high school in El Cajon and upon graduation began working in construction and eventually became involved in the food and beverage business around the San Diego area. He moved to Pinetop in 1979 and joined his father and mother in the beautiful White Mountains. Larry, along with a partner formed an upholstery and rug cleaning business in his early years in the White Mountains. He never lost his interest for the culinary arts and became a bartender and chef at large. His food and beverage delights were enjoyed by many people in the various bars and restaurants where Larry worked, including Pinetop Country Club, Sunrise Hotel and Resort, Greer Lodge and the Chalet Restaurant. Larry's interests were many and amongst his favorite was joining with his friends, year after year, in fish camps throughout Arizona. All who knew him will remember Larry as an individual with a unique form of self expression unlike no other. Wherever he went he was remembered. He will be missed dearly. Larry is survived by his nieces, Joyce Town of Haines, Alaska, Hallie Kofsted of Washington and Jean Wyly of Calif.; nephew, Matt Walker of Delta Jct., Alaska; six great-nieces and two great-nephews; one great-great nephew and two great-great nieces all of Calif., Washington and Alaska. A memorial gathering is planned and will be announced at a later time.
