Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Charles R. Compton of Lake Havasu City passed away suddenly at his home Sunday evening, Sept., 21, 2008. He was born Dec. 26, 1948, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Ray and Thelma (Hand) Compton. Charlie, as he was known to his family and friends, attended school in Rock Springs and worked for the City of Rock Springs as a senior detention supervisor in corrections for 23 years, retiring in June of 2007. While living in Wyoming, he enjoyed big game hunting. Charlie moved to Lake Havasu City a little over a year ago and was thoroughly enjoying his retirement. He was a member of Elks 2399 and Fraternal Order of Eagles 4299. Charlie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Terry Ann Compton, of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Debbra (Rick) McNalley, of Arvada, Colo.; brothers, Richard (Judy) Compton, of Rock Springs and Terry (Kim) Compton, of Richmond, Mo.; sister, Susan (Don) Gurnee, of Hallowell, Kan.; granddaughters, Megan McNalley and Skylar McNalley, of Arvada, Colo.; brother-in-law, Jim (Sandy) Hahn, of Kemmerer, Wyo., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
