The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 11, 1991, p. 2 Ransom B. Woods, Sr., 96, of Wickenburg, died September 8 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. Mr. Woods was born June 7, 1895 in Comanche County, Texas. He had lived in Arizona for the past eight years. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War I. An avid reader, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M, and earned a Masters degree in history at the University of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, whom he married in 1918. They were married 53 years before her death in 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Messenger of Morristown; a son, Ransom Woods, Jr. of Aspen, Colorado; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Private disposition was conducted, with interment in the York Community Center, Thompson, Illinois.
