LACAFF, Elnore Louise


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 2, 1991, p. 2 Elnore Louise LaCaff, 80, of Wickenburg died September 25 in Wickenburg Nursing Home. Mrs. LaCaff was born May 12, 1911 in Lander, Wyoming. She had lived in Arizona for the past 36 years. At the time of her birth in Lander, Mrs. LaCaff’s father, Florian LaCaff, was Superintendent of Construction for the U.S. Treasury Department. Mrs. LaCaff was widely educated, attending schools in Denver, Newport, Rhode Island, Holland, Michigan and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She was also a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute, and had studied at the Philadelphia School of Design, the University of California, and at the Arts Student League in New York City. Mrs. LaCaff at one time posed for the John Powers Modeling Agency, and later taught art in Scottsdale, where she produced a number of one-women shows. For many years Mrs. LaCaff was a companion to her mother Leola M. LaCaff, also a longtime Wickenburg resident. Leola McCaff preceded her daughter in death in 1977. During the long illness which preceded her death, Mrs. LaCaff enjoyed the companionship of close Wickenburg friends Alice Thomas, Margaret Pehl and Becky Smith, and also the staff of Wickenburg Community Hospital and Nursing Home. Survivors include a sister, Dr. Maurine L. LaCaff, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and a brother, Col, Robert L. LaCaff of San Antonio, Texas. Private disposition was conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wickenburg Public Library, or to a local charity of the donor’s choice.
