SMITH, Chester (Chet)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 2, 1991, p. 3 Chester “Chet” Smith, died September 29 at his home near Pojaque, New Mexico, north of Santa Fe. Chester Smith was the only son of Moulton and Ida Smith, former longtime residents of Wickenburg, who were well-known in the area. Ida Smith wrote frequent articles for The Wickenburg Sun, and Moulton Smith was a photographer who wrote book references about the area. The Smiths preceded their son in death in March 1987, passing away three days apart at his ranch in New Mexico. Chet Smith will be buried at the National Veterans Cemetery in Santa Fe. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons; two daughters; and 11 grandchildren, all living in the immediate area, plus many friends both in Wickenburg and New Mexico.
