ABBOTT, Basil R.

Basil R. Abbott, 74, who had retired from the oil distributing business, died Sunday, October 13, 1968, in Maryvale Hospital.  

Mr. Abbott, 1427 E. Polk, moved to Phoenix in 1960 from Sumter, S. C., where he had been a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars; a Methodist church, Woodmen of the World and Elks Club, all in Great Bend, Kansas.  He was a veteran of World War I and a native of Beaumont, Kansas.  

Services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Maryvale Chapel, 6901 W. Indian School.  Friends may call there from 4 to 6 p.m. today.  Burial will be in Great Bend.  

Survivors include two daughters, Dorla Abbott of Marion, Kansas, and Mrs. Charles Nickel of Phoenix; and three grandsons.
