Sun City -- Edward Sabin Dodge, 68, who won many distinctions in Masonry and was a veteran of both world wars, died yesterday (10/131968) in St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix.
Mr. Dodge, 11620 Coggins Drive, who was discharged as an Air Force captain in 1946 after serving as an intelligence officer in England, was credited with being awarded the first Bronze Star presented to an American stationed in England during World War II. He joined the Masons in 1921 in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, his birth place. Honors include Knight York Cross of Honor, Red Cross of Constantine, 33rd Degree Mason, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, potentate of the Zor Shrine Temple at Madison, Wis., Order of the Eastern Star, patron of the Lake Mills O.E.S. lodge, president of the Sojourners Truax at Madison and secretary of the Sojourners at Luke AFB. He was a past commander of the American Legion at Lake Mills. He moved to Sun City six years ago and was a member of the Maryvale Mens Gold Club.
Private services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams, Phoenix. Cremation will follow.
Survivors include his wife, Else K.; a son, Edward M. of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.
