Mabel Clare Cooley, 82, of Wickenburg, died Jan. 6 in the Wickenburg Community Hospital Nursing Home.
She was born on March 18, 1902 in Black Mountain, Colo. and was an Arizona resident for 65 years. During the 1940s and 1950s she and her husband William C. Cooley, owned and operated two restaurants in Wickenburg. Cooley’s Café and the Wickenburg Café.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1964. Additional survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Lauzon, of Wickenburg; two sons, Bob, of Waddel and Leland (Russel), of Ashland, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Sharon Lund, Kevin Cooley, Laura Nasser, Rhonda Hedges, Debra Mead and Kelly Cooley, all Arizona residents and Robert and Russel Cooley, residing out of state. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at the Greenwood Memorial Park at 35th Avenue and Black Canyon Freeway, Phoenix. There will be no visitation. Dr. Bert Follmar, of Wickenburg Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate at the services.
Interment will be in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Phoenix.
Arrangements were made through the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
