James H. Berger, 79, of Wickenburg, died May 9 at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1905 in Temple, Texas and lived in Arizona 50 years.
He was a past master of Masonic Lodge No. 37 in Wickenburg; a past patron of the Eastern Star in Wickenburg; retired in 1970 after 43 years with the Santa Fe Railroad in Wickenburg and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, also in Wickenburg. He also was on the board of the Rainbow Girls.
Survivors include his wife, Bess Berger, of Wickenburg; two daughter, Velma Thompson, of Fullerton, Calif. and Molly Troutt, of Ramona, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece of Albuquerque and one aunt in Texas.
Visitation was May 10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Services were May 11 at 10 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Delbert Henderson officiating. Masonic graveside services were conducted at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Interment was in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Arrangements were made through the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
