HANEY, Freida Fay

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona August 1, 1985, page 14 Freida Fay (Haefer) Haney, 72, of La Grande, Ore., died July 19 in Oregon. She was born July 13, 1913 in Cove, Ore. In 1931, she married Robert DeVore. Together, they had two children, a daughter who died in 1975 and a son William Bert DeVore, or Priest River, Idaho. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Hollis Hetrick, of Riverside, Calif., August, Royal, Donald and Elvin Haefer, all of La Grande and Union, Ore.; two sister, Leila Moore, of Riverside and Jean Harsin, of La Grange. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In 1945 she married Joseph C. Haney in Great Falls, Mont. They managed an apartment house in Great Falls until they retired in the fall of 1969 and moved to Wickenburg. Haney preceded her in death in April 1983. She is was treasurer of the Senior Citizens Card Club for several years, a member of American Association of Retired Persons and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Wickenburg. Graveside services were conducted July 22 in Cove. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
