DAS, Gerrit Lawrence

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona October 24, 1985, page 18 Gerrit Lawrence Das, 73, of Congress, died Oct. 15 at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. He was born and raised in Slayton, Minn. and had lived in Congress for three years. Das was a Standard Oil bulk agent for 25 years. He was also the mayor of Bethel, Minn. For 12 year and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lion’s Club. Survivors include his wife, Catherine F. Das of Congress; one son, Bruce G. Das, of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Patricia J. Hillman, of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. B. Anderson, of Pipestone, Minn. and Mrs. Harold Hibbard, of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and one brother, Dick Das, of Winter Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen. Visitation was Oct. 17 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Graveside services were conducted at the Wickenburg Cemetery by the Wickenburg Masonic Lodge. Also presiding at the services were the Rev. Bruce Das, son of the deceased and Pastor Adam Lautenschlager, of Wickenburg. Arrangements were made through the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
