The Copper Basin News Hayden, Az. - 07/21/2010 Gloria Linda Maes Herrera, 57, joined her mother in Heaven on July 18, 2010. She was born Nov. 30, 1952 in Ray, Arizona, and passed away in Phoenix. She was a beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her grandmother, Lily Camacho; her father, Antonio Maes; her husband, David of Kearny; daughters, Marisa and her novio, Osvaldo Mendoza, of California, and Avila and her fiancé, Brian Toro, of Queen Creek; grandchildren, Cesar David and Brian Rosendo; siblings, Ernestine Lorona and her husband, Bob, of Hayden, Mary Lou Garcia and her husband, Santos, of Texas, Toni Ann Aguirre and her husband, Eugene, of Kearny, Ramon Maes and his wife, Virginia, of Kearny, and Melissa Bracamonte and her husband, Ernesto, of Chandler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was a 1970 graduate of Ray High School and was a proud Sun Devil, who graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 1974. She worked as a nurse in Gila County, Chicago and Texas, as a school nurse in Hayden, and as nurse in Kearny where she was proud to take care of the many families and friends she had grown up knowing her entire life. She lived a life of service, loved unconditionally and was an inspiration to us all. She was loved tremendously in life and will be missed in death, but her spirit continues in everyone she leaves behind. She was a longtime member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny. Services for Gloria Herrera will be held on Thursday, July 22, at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny with a viewing at 8:30 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Mass at 10 a.m. Interment and graveside services will be held immediately following in Superior. Griffith Mortuary of Kearny assisted the family with arrangements.
