Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, July 21, 2010 Jan. 9, 1914 – July 19, 2010 Robert M. Beresford passed away July 19, 2010, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 96. He was born in Roseburg, Ore. Robert was well taken care of at home by his daughter, Joyce, and son in law, John, and with the care of Hospice of Havasu. After retiring as a real estate Broker, he moved to Lake Havasu City from Southern California in 1984. He was one of the first to put up a beach volleyball court in Manhattan Beach, Calif., in the 1950s. Robert was an active tennis player at the London Bridge Tennis Club and played until the age of 88. He enjoyed traveling, golf, and had a passion for reading. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Florence. He is survived by his two sons, Dennis Beresford (Marian) of Athens, Ga., Michael Beresford (Hattie) of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and two daughters, Joyce Saunders (John) of Lake Havasu City and Joan Snyder (Tim) of Sequim, Wash.
