Grace Kindred Majka, 77, of Yarnell, died No. 23, in Yarnell. She was born Sept. 26, 1908 in Seattle, Wash, and was an Arizona resident for eight years.
Majka’s early life was spent as a radiologist in Washington. Later, she taught radiology at the University of Southern California to dental hygienist. She lived in Santa Barbara, Calif. from 1947 to 1976 where she received an award for 30 years of service with the Girl Scouts, beginning in Victorville, Calif.
She was a member of Choral Society for 10 years and was later a member of Romany Chorus, which was started by John Charles Thomas. She was active in youth service at the First Methodist Church, in Santa Barbara.
She remarried in 1972 and in 1977, was in partnership with her husband at Yarnell Cable Television. They later became owners of the Crawford Trailer Park, in Quartzite. She was also a member of the Yarnell Presbyterian Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, Chester J., of Yarnell; one son, Jay; three daughters, Kathy, Susanna and Lori, all out-of-state residents and one sister, Marion Wice, of Sedona.
Visitation was Nov. 26 at the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church. Services were Nov. 27 with Pastor Sam Weinschenk officiating.
Interment was in the Pioneer Cemetery, Peeples Valley.
