Burford Bartow Giles, 60, of Wickenburg, died Jan. 20 at the Wickenburg Community Hospital following a long illness.
He was born May 8, 1925, in Milagro, N. M. Most of his life was spent in New Mexico, Texas and Wickenburg, where he was employed by Rancho de los Caballeros for 16 years.
Giles had served in the United States Navy during World War II where he was a third class aviation electronics mate. Most of that time was served on the island of Guam.
Giles is survived by his wife, Anne Giles and son, David Bartow Giles, of Wickenburg; one brother, William M. Giles, of Newport, Wash.; two sisters, Jessie Lynn Fox, of Kansas city, Mo. and Doris M. Crittenden, of Edmonds, Wash.; one nephew of Colorado Springs, Colo., and one niece of Bothell, Wash.; aunts, uncles and cousins from Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial services will be conducted Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Masonic graveside and burial services are pending and will be conducted in Amarillo. The family requests that no floral offerings be sent. Memorial contribution will be accepted at the main office of Community Bank of Arizona.
