The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 27, 1986, p. 4 U. Kenneth Garvin, 66, died Jan. 24 at his home on the family farm located near Upton, Mo. When a young man, he left the farm near Upton, Mo. and joined his Uncle John Garvin in Wickenburg, where he worked with him at the Vulture gold mine. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Success, Mo. After Pearl Harbor was bombed, he signed up with the Marine Corps and served with the 3rd Division in the South Pacific. Surviving Garvin is his wife, Esther; a son, Kenneth, a ranger in the Petrified Forest; a step-son, Gary Morris of Holland; two step-daughters, Sheila Wiman, of Ajo and Jo Ann Lundstrom, of Wickenburg; two sisters, Louise Amato, of Redford, Mich. and Linda Walters, of Cabool, Mo.; two granddaughters, eight step-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Services were Jan. 28 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Houston, Mo., with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Mo.
