COSS, Louis F.


Louis F. Coss, 88, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 19, 2010. He was born on August 19, 1921 in Chihuahua, Mexico. "Lou" as he was known to his family and friends came to the united States when he was nine years old. He became a citizen and owned and worked in his own business as a very successful Commercial/Graphic Artist in San Gabriel, California for 25 years before moving to the Havasu and Prescott area until his death. He met his wife, Cookie, in Los Angeles and were married in 1942. Together they had two children. Cookie preceded him in death in 2004. They had finally made their home in Havasu the last 15 years of their lives. Lou had many friends here in Arizona and California. He enjoyed traveling and he and Cookie traveled to many sites all over the U.S. in their little RV. During his life he enjoyed deep-sea fishing with his son and close friends, traveling and golf. As he aged he still enjoyed trips to Laughlin to play Black Jack and watching Tiger playing golf on the TV in addition to his favorite game shows. During his life he enjoyed eating and eating out, but his favorite part of the meal was desert. It was very hard to say which was his favorite, but the gooiest were the best. Lou was very much a family man, always there for his children and grandchildren. his second great-grandchild is due to arrive on his birthday next month. Lou is survived by his older sister, Connie Sampley of Norwalk, CA.; son, Gil (Debi) Coss of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; daughter, Christine Brooks of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; grandchildren, Amber (Rick) Moshin, Craig (Regina) Coss, Heath Cartwright, Jay (Rhonda) Cartwright and Justin Brooks; great grandchild, Koa Brooks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Cookie Coss. Lou requested no service. Contributions can be made in Lou's name to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S. Lake Havasu Ave., LHC. AZ. 86405 for the exceptional and unending care given to him by the Hospice nurses and the outstanding CNA's that visited everyday.
