LIRA, Nicholas Dexter (Nick)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, July 25, 2010 Nick Lira, 65, passed away peacefully in his home July 14, 2010. He was a resident of Chino Valley, Ariz. Nick served in the U.S. Navy and was proud of his time in submarine duty aboard the USS Sirago. Nick loved to cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family, friends and when volunteering at the senior center. He never tired of exploring new recipes and sharing them with friends. Nick also enjoyed woodworking and fishing and spent many hours on local lakes. Nick's memory will live on through his family and friends: father Theodore Lira (deceased); mother Ruby Lira; brother Steve Lira; sister-in-law Gina Lira; nieces Jessica and Jamie Lira; brother Dan Lira; sister-in-law Joy Lira; wife Patricia Leo (deceased); girlfriend Sharron Tucker; his uncle, aunts and cousins of Arizona; his beloved cats, Kinishba and Rocky; and everyone who knew and loved him. Military funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Prescott, Ariz. Information provided by survivors.
