The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/23/2010 Lorraine Velma Pollack Shaw "GG", 89, of Show Low died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Harbor, Ind., the daughter of Max and Pauline (Hudacko) Pollack. She was raised and attended school in Chicago, Ill. She attended medical school for a year before marrying and starting her busy career. She had operated and worked in many different businesses, especially the restaurant business and furniture business, in which she spent 27 years. She took care of many people including family, and operated a daycare at one point. She loved all the arts, especially painting, and was very talented, enjoying knitting and crocheting among other things. She was a huge sports fan of all sports, and was well versed in politics. She was also an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing all sorts of special dishes from many countries for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Show Low. She is survived by grandchildren Antone Kaleel (Stacie), Shaya Kirkpatrick (Grant), Brett Treatman, Hindra Goodman (Dan); great-grandchildren Halana and Hannah Kaleel, Jack, Ryan and Allie Kirkpatrick, Madison and Sera Hallock; cousin Velma Soltes; dear friends Nancy and Will Kennedy and her dog, Ruby. She was preceded in death by her parents Max and Pauline Hudacko; daughter Paularay Keen (March 12, 2010) and cousins, Irma, Margaret and Pauline Soltes.
