The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/23/2010 John Joseph Bock, 94, of Concho died peacefully July 16, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 63 years. John was born July 11, 1916, the second of seven children, all of whom have preceded him. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Coast Guard being stationed state side in the Great Lakes Area. In 1959 John moved his family to Phoenix. His trade was that of tool and die maker. He worked for Harper Wyman in Chicago, Ill., General Electric and Karsten Mfg. Corp. (Ping Golf) in Phoenix. After retiring from Ping in 1986, John and Betty made Concho their home, first for summers only, but in 1990 Concho became their permanent residence. He is survived by his two daughters Sue (Bob) Cochran and Sandy (Mark) Dressman; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. John will be remembered for his gentle spirit. He loved his wife, family and the Lord. Some of his favorite memories were playing baseball, watching baseball or being an usher at Spring training games. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. The family has suggested that donations may be made in John's name to Hospice Compassus P.O. Box 1975 Lakeside, Arizona 85929.
