PRESCOTT, Joseph Morrow


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/05/2007 Joseph Morrow Prescott died Dec. 28, 2006 in Camp Verde. He was born March 28, 1923 in Elba, Alabama. Joe was a retired naval communications officer who served aboard several ships during WWII and the Korean War. He was witness to the atomic bomb testing at the Bikini Atoll. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Alabama, majoring in communications. He and his wife, Clare Prescott shared traveling to Europe and Mexico until her death in 2002. Joe enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader and American history buff. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Denton (Dennis) of Pinetop, Marci Plopper of San Diego, Calif., and Randi Weisen of Las Vegas, Nev., grandson, Zachary Plopper of San Diego, Calif., six stepchildren, grandchildren, and his sister, Maxine Prescott of Elba, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clare Prescott, three brothers, and his mother and father. Memorial services to be announced. Bueller Funeral Home of Camp Verde handled arrangements
