MURA, Vasily

Wickenburg (AZ) Graphic Friday, March 18, 1932, p 1 c 4 Jury Returns Murder Verdict Cottonwood--A coroner's jury, upon further investigation, has found that Vasily Mura, first believed to have committed suicide, "came to his death at the hands of a party or parties unknown." Sheriff Charles Edwards found Mura last week sitting upright in a shack in Cottonwood with a shotgun by his side. The shack was locked with a padlock. Mura was first hit on the head with a blunt instrument and then shot under the right jaw with a revolver, witnesses said. No motive is known for the crime, officers assert, as it was not robbery and he had no known enemies. Mura had been living with Jerry Lazarda and his mother. Lazarda is proprietor of a filling station in Cottonwood.
