Janice Hubbard, 61, of Pinetop died Dec. 29, 2006 at her winter home in Mesa. This tough lady fought cancer for more than four years.
She was born and raised in South Dakota. Jan joined the Army after high school and while stationed at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, she met and married her husband, Bob. They were married for 42 years. They raised two fantastic daughters, Nikki of Flagstaff and Kristy of Chandler; grandchildren B.J., Andrew, Calista, Camden, and Morgen were her pride and joy.
She loved and was proud of her sons-in-law, Bryan and Frank and her brothers-in-law, Jim and Russ. She had a close bond with her mother, Elaine; sisters, Lorrie, Karen, Julie; and brother, Dean. Her extended family of friends, who loved her unconditionally and helped her and Bob through difficult times, including Carol, Mary, Mavis, Bonnie, Donna, and Patti and Nancy, plus many others.
Jan worked with the Pinetop-Lakeside Chamber of Commerce for several years as festivals chairman and was their interim director for a while. Before she retired, Jan owned "Lasting Impressions," a custom gift basket business in Pinetop. She enjoyed bridge, golf, needlework, painting, crafts and reading.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13, 2007 at the Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main St. in Mesa.
