The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/05/2007 Inez Hatch Gardner, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 in Mesa. She was born in Woodruff March 19, 1914 to Albert and Zina (Brinkerhoff) Hatch. Inez was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many years as an officer or teacher in the organizations of the church. She had a hobby of making hand-sewn quilts and has made many of them to give away to her children and grandchildren. Inez is survived by her husband, Melvin Gardner; four children, Lorraine G. Smith, Melvin E. Gardner, Larry M. Gardner and Carwin D. Gardner; 21 grandsons, nine granddaughters, 95 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, Dell A. Hatch and Orland R. Hatch; four sisters, Grace H. Pulsipher, Aleen H. Scorse, Janell H. Fergusen and Vyrla H. Cook. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Zina Lois G. Rogers. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Woodruff Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.,m. at the Olive Ward Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 451 E. 2nd Ave. Mesa and one-hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Woodruff Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
