Virginia V. Deberry, 68, of Eugene, Ore., died July 10 in Sacred Heart’s Hospital in Eugene. She was born July 28, 1917, in Lincoln, N.M.
DeBerry worked in Wickenburg as a waitress at Red’s Café in the 1950s and the Rancho bar Seven in the early 1960s.
She was married to Joseph DeBerry, who was the bartender at La Cabana from about 1952 until his death in 1962. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Wickenburg and moved to Eugene, Ore., in 1977. She lived in Wickenburg from the early 50 until about 1977.
She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Ayers, of Mundelein, Ill., and Barbara Harrington, of Palm Desert, Calif.; three grandchildren, all out of state; three brothers, Vincent Vegel and Frank Vigil, both of Douglas and Manuel Vigil, of California and one sister, Nellie de la Vara, of North Hollywood, Calif.
Memorial services were at the Wickenburg Funeral Home on July 16. Father Dan Moschel officiated. Arrangements were made by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
