ABERNATHY, George W. (Bill)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 23 1986, p. 8 George W. “Bill” Abernathy, 87, died Oct. 9, in Rancho, Calif. He and his wife have been frequent visitors to Wickenburg since 1949, making 34 five-day rides with the Desert Caballeros, a men's trail riding organization based in Wickenburg. He served on the board of directors of the Desert Caballeros from 1954 to 1984, representing Southern California. He is survived by his wife, Iris Abernathy; one sister, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were Oct. 10 in Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery, in Whittier, Calif.
