JENSEN, Harold Martin


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 13, 1986, p. 17 Harold Martin Jensen, 79, of Prescott, died Nov. 1 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Jensen and her wife, Ella, are former owners of the Cinco J Barber and Beauty Shop in Wickenburg. He was born July 18, 1907 in Missouri Valley, Iowa the son of Martinus and Carolina Jensen. A retired butcher, he moved to Prescott six years ago from Ojai, Calif. He was an Army veteran of World War II, past commander of the American Legion Post in Wickenburg, past president of the Wickenburg Senior Saddle Club and was instrumental in founding the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg. He was also a member of the notorious Gold Shirt Gang, Wickenburg’s ambassadors of the Old West. He is survived by his wife, Ella, of Prescott; three sons, Harold, of Bentonville, Ark., John Alan, of Ukiah, Calif., and Martin Christian, of Prescott; two daughters, Barbara Sangwin, of Hiwasse, Ark., and April Elyse Jensen, of Ojai; three sisters, Fern Campbell, Mary jean Porter and Edna Nordeen, all of California; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg, the Rev. Denis Wittenberger officiating. Memory Chapel Mortuary is making. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Harold Jensen Memorial Scholarship Fund at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane, Prescott 86301.
