Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, August 2, 2010 Peter Blankenberg passed away July 22, 2010, with his family at his side. Petey was born on June 12, 1964, in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984. He loved to make people laugh and will be remembered most for that special gift. He also enjoyed going on desert runs in his Polaris, reading the Bible and being around his friends. He worked at Big Blasters for 20 years, and was a treasured employee. He is survived by his father, Norval Blankenberg, of Streamwood, Ill.; his mother, Carol McLouth, of Youngstown, Ariz.; his brother, Bob (Tom) Blankenberg, of Phoenix; and his sister, Sue Blankenberg, of Streamwood, Ill.; nephews, Michael and Alec; niece, Jackeline; aunts, Donna (Rich) Madland, of Columbus, Ohio, Kaaren (Don) Little, of Lake Havasu City; his cousins, George (Barb) Pitra, of Chicago, Ill.; Lori (Paul) Abram, Robby (Linda) Koenig, David (Terry) Koenig, all of Lake Havasu City, and Dody Pinkerton and Steve Madland, of Ohio; the children of his cousins, Jake (Becky) Lauer, Matt Lauer, Dani, Sami, Bobbi and Vincent Koenig, James, and Alberta Abram and Irene Little, all of Lake Havasu City. The children will always remember Petey for his quirky little sayings and making them laugh. He is also survived by his dearest friends who were like his family, Shawn and Linda Haddad, and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Blankenberg and his uncle, Robert Koenig. He will truly be missed and will be remembered in our hearts forever!
