TURNEY, Ellen

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Thursday, August 5, 2010 Ellen Turney, 52, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, July 21, after a brave battle with cancer. Mrs. Turney was an active member of NAMI and enjoyed gardening, hiking, reading and cooking. She was known for her fabulous St. Patrick's day celebration, using her Irish mother's corned beef and cabbage recipe. She always helped her friends in need. Mrs. Turney is survived by her children, Kate and Timothy; mother Margaret; sisters Susan, Nancy, Jane and Beth; brother Daniel; "sister friend" Victoria Endres; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband Christopher, father Allen and brother David. A service will be Saturday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe chapel, 224 S. Kendrick St., in Flagstaff. Norvel Owens Mortuary is handling arrangements.
