Paul Dennis Bishop, 66, died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Flagstaff.
Mr. Bishop was born March 3, 1944, in Evanston, Ill. He was active in Boy Scouts, barbershop quartets and various committees in his communities and churches. He retired from the city of Chandler, where he worked for 30 years. After winning Chandler's 75th anniversary pie contest, he continued cooking for his office, church coffee hours, Sedona Community Suppers, family meals and any place he could feed people
Mr. Bishop was to begin studies for the diaconate with the Episcopal Church of Arizona. He and his wife, Elizabeth, retired to Rimrock, where they enjoyed their pets, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Sedona and various community activities.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children Kate and Erik; stepsons Jerrod and L. Brent; brother David; sister-in-law Kathy; half-brother Rick Thrailkill; sister Gina Purse; aunts Helen Avins and Bea Maddox; former wife Jean West; and many family members.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Sedona. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Bishop requests that memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter. Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@Lozanos-FlagstaffMortuary.com
