JIM, Monte


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Friday, August 6, 2010 Monte Jim Sr., 89, of Flagstaff, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the Serenity House and Hospice Care Facility in Phoenix. Mr. Jim was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Standing Rock, N.M. His paternal clan is Bit-ta-Nee and his maternal clan is Bitter Water. He lived in Flagstaff for 55 years and worked at several places. He retired from the Navajo Army Depot after 22 years of service. Mr. Jim will always be remembered as a devoted Christian, father and family man. His favorite pastime was cheering for the Arizona Cardinals and the Phoenix Suns. Mr. Jim is survived by his sons, Mauri Jim, Monte Jim Jr., Alan Jim and Lindy Jim; stepdaughters Mary Lou, Laura, Sarah and Grace; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin sister; second wife Ruby Jim in 2006; first wife Charlotte Jim in 2007; and daughter Eloise Jim in 2009. A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Flagstaff Mission to the Navajos, 10 W. Cherry Ave. After the service, Mr. Jim will be buried next to his wife, Ruby Jim, at Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S.
