Nickolas LeSueur Greer, 68, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, in Albuquerque, N.M. He was born March 2,1942, in St. Johns to Leland Camp Greer and Alice Geneva Crosby Greer.
Nickolas was a graduate of St. Johns High School. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Nickolas was a Forward Observer for two years and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a teacher throughout the Navajo Nation. He loved children, enjoyed learning, teaching and education. He also enjoyed construction work, had a contractor's license and was a deputy sheriff for Apache County.
Nickolas is survived by his wife Cherry M. Greer of St. Johns; daughter Marcie Lowe of Mesa; brother Terry (Doris) Greer of St. Johns; sister Laurie Jo Greer of Rhoton, Utah; and two grandchildren Josh Isit and Colin Lowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Harris Greer, Michael Greer and Milford Leland Greer and son Michael Leland Greer.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 5, at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Downtown Chapel in St. Johns. Interment followed services at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
