Spencer "Spuncy" Kimball Charleston Jr., 40, of Tuba City, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, in Phoenix.
Mr. Charleston was born May 15, 1970, in Tuba City. His maternal clan is TA-chii'nii and paternal clan Kiyaa'aanii. He was a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Tuba City High School. He loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed making others laugh and always brightened everyone's day. He will always be remembered for his beautiful, kind, generous and loving soul.
Mr. Charleston is survived by his children's mother, Sonya Nez of Tuba City; sons Rolanial, Ian and Seth, all of Tuba City; mother Verna Charleston; sisters Kelly Charleston and Sheryl Charleston; and brothers Edwin (Ben) Charleston and Charles Charleston.
He was preceded in death by grandfather Glen Charleston Sr. (Grace) of Iyanbeto, N.M.; and father Spencer Kimbell Charleston Sr. of Iyanbeto, N.M., and Tuba City.
A service will be Monday at 10 a.m. DST at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Tuba City. Interment will follow at the Tuba City Cemetery. A reception will be at the St. Jude Recreational Center following the interment. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Walters, Jonathan Akee, Jeremy Akee, Stefan Miless, Rolanial Charleston and Ian Charleston. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Charleston Jr., Vern Charleston, Allen Bergen, Joe Bergen Jr. and Van Bergen.
Valley Ridge Mortuary is handling arrangements.
