JORDAN, Charlie, Sr.


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Sunday, August 8, 2010 Charlie Jordan Sr. died on July 20, 2010. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Zetta; sons Charlie Jr., Russell, Larry and Leo; daughter Linda; brothers, Ted, Pat and Howard Jordan; and sisters Barbara Cockerham and Mildred Johnson. His brother, Johnny Jordan, preceded him in death, as well as his parents, Fred and Mildred Jordan. Survivors also include six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Most of his life was spent in Flagstaff. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and welder, who retired from Operating Engineers No. 428 after 56 years of service. He was honorably discharged from both the Army and Air Force. He was a member of the Free Masons most of his life, as were his father, grandfather and four brothers. Sons Charlie Jr. and Larry also became involved with the Free Masons to the great pleasure of their father. Mr. Jordan enjoyed his roses, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Services will be at Mountain View Gardens on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Masonic Childrens Hospital or Hospice.
