Peter Nash was discharged of his earthly duties by the Commander in Chief from above Jan. 27, 2007.
Peter was so courageous and brave; he served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was so proud to serve and protect his people, he worked as a police officer in his early years. He had so much love for the outdoors, he devoted many years to forestry. Always giving and wanting to give more, he served on the Tribal Council for District III. Caring and compassionate, he dedicated his last working years to the Indian Health Service, where he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emma Nash; one daughter, Pauline George; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of his life will commence with a two-night wake beginning Thursday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m., at his residence in Upper East Fork. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. in the East Fork Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gary Lupe officiating. Pete will be laid to rest at the Dove Cemetery in East Fork.
