MOLLINEAUX, Enrique (Rick)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, July 25, 2010 Enrique "Rick" Mollineaux was taken back home by his Lord on June 28, 2010, at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. He and his wife, Charlene, had just returned to their home in Dewey from a long-anticipated five-week motorized vacation through the northwestern United States and British Columbia, Canada, when he developed health complications. Rick was 66. A native of Prescott, Rick was born on Aug. 22, 1943. Having grown up in Prescott, he attended Washington Elementary School, Prescott Junior High and graduated from Prescott High School in 1961. Rick was to meet his future wife, Charlene, during their senior year at Prescott High; however, their courtship was cut short and they went different directions to attend college. Rick attended Arizona State College in Flagstaff and, in 1969, he began his career in the electrical wholesale supply business with Flagstaff Electrical Supply. In 1986, at their 25th year Prescott High School reunion, Rick and Charlene found each other once again and they were married on Nov. 26, 1988. In the late '90s, Edsen Electrical Supply took over operation of the company, at which time the Mollineauxs were able to return and once again make Prescott their home. Rick was honored as the company's longest reigning employee of 38 years when he retired in 2008. As an avid hunter in the state since his early teens, Rick took on the role as advocate for young hunters. For 25 years, he instructed Fire Arm Safety Education and Young Hunters Safety Education. His goal was to pass on to youth his passion for wildlife conservation and appreciation for the complexity of the Arizona terrain. As a member of the Coconino Sportsmen for 25 years, Rick was instrumental in water hole/drinker, fencing, and habitat restoration projects. He also assisted in founding the first chapter of the National Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Flagstaff in 1984. Rick is survived by his mother, Guadalupe Gonzalez Watson of Prescott; wife of 21 years Charlene Mollineaux of Dewey; sons Steve and Scott Mollineaux; brother Tim Mollineaux; sister Delores Mollineaux Norman; stepson Ron Johnson; stepdaughter Nicole Johnson; nephews Tim Mollineaux and Tom Norman; and nieces Desiree Mollineaux, Carla Norman Dudley and Alice Booth. A Celebration of Life for Rick Mollineaux will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse House, 1495 S. Sheriff's Posse Trail. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Outdoor Experience 4 All, Youth Program, 12826 S. 38th Place, Phoenix, AZ 85044. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhome.com to sign Rick's guest book. Information provided by survivors.
