LEMEN, Calvin Marion


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, August 7, 2010 On Oct. 22, 1928, in Woodland, Calif., Calvin M. Lemen, was born to Josephine and Marion Lemen. Also born were his sisters: Virginia, Cleo, Barbara, and step-sister Jean. Calvin passed away July 30, 2010, in San Diego, Calif. at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Grace Lemen who passed away July 27, 2009; and son, James F. Lemen who passed away Jan. 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Poarch; step-daughter, Brenda Hisel; and step-son, George Fite. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Troy, Stephen, Kathleen, Tom, Larry, Melonie, Johnny and 15 great-grand children. Calvin was a veteran who served in the Army in 1953. He liked to hunt and fish, and he worked at Lee School in Woodland for 10 years. Calvin and Mamie lived in Lake Havasu City for 15 years. The past year has been difficult for Calvin, after losing his best friend and wife of 44 years. Thanks go to the Hospice Group in Lake Havasu City and his dog Tippy for making his last year a little easier. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at Monument Hill Memorial Park in Woodland, Calif.
