Copper basin News Hayden, Az. - 08/12/2010 Sylvia G. Diaz of Tucson passed away July 30, 2010 in Tucson. She was born in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was raised there and in Hayden. She attended Hayden High School, graduating in 1976. Sylvia enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved listening and dancing to music and watching novellas. She was employed at El Conquistador in Oro Valley for over 23 years; she loved her work and never called off. Sylvia is survived by her husband Porfirio; her daughter, Johanna Sanchez; her mother Cira Z. Garcia; siblings Herminio (Dora) Garcia, Carlos (Lila) Garcia, Jose Luis (Armida) Garcia and Ricardo (Frances) Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos R Garcia and her nephew Herminio Garcia Jr. Services for Mrs. Diaz were held Friday, Aug. 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden. Griffith Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
