HAMMARGREN, Gary Roberts


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, Aug 11th, 2010 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the family of Gary Roberts Hammargren announce his passing. The beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, 75 of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 30, 1935 in Balsam, Minnesota to Clarence and Gladys Hendricks Hammargren. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood working. He was also a world traveller and enjoyed the finer things in life, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Karin Hammargren; son, Alan (Lori) Hammargren of Farmington, New Mexico; two daughters, Teri (Ron) Hammargren and Sanna (Crow) Castro both of Globe, Arizona; three stepdaughters, Judith (Patrick) McGuire and Carol (Stan) Dyer both of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Michelle Meissner of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Lyle (Linda) Hammargren of Bovey, Minnesota; and sister-in-law, Elaine Meade of Globe, Arizona. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, Ashley (Joseph), Lindsey, Bryan, Kylee, Trevor, Michelle, Elizabeth, Eddie James, Kenny, Hunter, Savannah and Mackenzie; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Bryan Jr., Angel, Joe Jr., and Tieyierra. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marlin Dean Hammargren. At Gary’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Baca’s Chapel of Prayer in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Inurnment of cremains will take place in Minnesota, along with services on Aug. 14, 2010. “May time and grief pass swiftly...may memories last forever.”
