Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Gayle Francis Ballantyne, 83, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in Elk Grove, Calif. She was born March 29, 1925, in Sioux Falls, S.D.; to Rollin F. and Elizabeth A. (Wilde) Werle. Gayle moved to Lake Havasu City 20 years ago from Anaheim, Calif. She worked as a hairdresser in Yorba Linda, Calif.; for 25 years. Gayle is survived by her sons, Rick Phillips, of Anaheim, Michael (Carol) Pickett, of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Alan Jerome (Betty) Werle, of Minnesota; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Leroy Ballantyne. Graveside services will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens Friday at 10:30 a.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be presented by Rev. Richard Rounds.
