Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Esther Louise (Paulsen) Scoggin passed away Sept. 6, 2008, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 93. She was born to Walter and Dorothy (Nelson) Paulsen on Jan. 8, 1915, in McNabb, Ill. On Jan.11, 1936, Esther married her best friend Leo Francis Scoggin, and together they made Arizona their home 26 years ago from Morton, Ill., moving to Lake Havasu City six years later. She was a loving grandmother, who after raising her own children she had a big hand in raising four of her seven grandchildren. Esther and Leo also loved camping and boating after retiring from Caterpillar Tractor Company in Morton, Ill. Esther really enjoyed being around her family, who came first and foremost in her life. Esther leaves behind her beloved family; son, Robert Scoggin, of Illinois; daughter, Louise Thompson, of Ft. Mohave; brother, Ralph Paulsen, of Fresno, Calif.; seven grandchildren, including Mrs. Robert P. Leuck (Linda) and Mr. Lee Duay of Kingman; five great-grandchildren, including Mrs. Kody Graham (Lindsy), and Lauren Winter; and four great-great-grandchildren, including Brandon and Brody Graham, of Lake Havasu City. Her other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren live in Kankakee, Ill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Leo Scoggin, and grandson Leo Duay.
