QUIER, William Henry, Jr.


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, September 10, 2008 William Henry Quier Jr., 75, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Compton, Calif., to William and Rosetta (Lower) Quier. William served under the direction of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married his beloved bride, Mavis Gjerde, and together they made Lake Havasu City their home six years ago from Gardena, Calif. He worked for Realtec Corporation in Glendale as an operating engineer for 15 years. William was a member of the Elks Lodge 2399. He loved road trips, traveling, being with his family, golfing, boating, fishing and camping. He had an infectious smile, a zest for life and was very fun-loving. William leaves behind his loving wife, Mavis “Micki” Quier, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Christina (Brian) Chenze, of Placentia, Calif., and Debra (Raymond) Howe, of Lakewood, Calif.; brothers, Ernest Quier, of Prairie, Idaho and John (Virginia) Quier, of Fallbrook, Calif.; sisters, Edith Barkalow, of Ashfork, Ariz., and Pauline (Billy) Weaver, of Burden, Kan.; and two grandsons, Austin and Brandon Chenze. “Your love will remain with us in the whisper of the wind and the rain that falls from Heaven.
